Thank you for taking the time to contact my office regarding the House budget resolution, H. Con. Res. 14. I cannot adequately do my job without your input, so I always appreciate receiving feedback from constituents regarding issues that are important to them. On February 25, 2025, House Republicans passed the budget resolution, H. Con. Res. 14, establishing a fiscal framework for the federal government and initiating the budget reconciliation process. This resolution does not enact any immediate policy changes, nor does it cut specific programs. Instead, it sets spending and revenue targets while directing committees to craft detailed legislation that will shape our nation’s economic future. This budget resolution is a crucial first step toward restoring economic stability, ensuring tax relief for hardworking families and small businesses, investing in border security, increasing domestic energy production, strengthening our national defense, and stopping wasteful government spending. It lays the groundwork to extend President Trump’s pro-growth tax cuts to provide much-needed certainty for families and small businesses while preventing crushing tax hikes that would hurt job creation and economic opportunity. It is important to note that H.Con.Res. 14 does not cut programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.  The resolution simply seeks to root out waste, fraud, and abuse to ensure taxpayer dollars are being used effectively. In 2024 alone, Medicare lost approximately $54.3 billion due to improper payments, and Medicaid reported over $31 billion in waste. Without ridding these programs of waste, they will be entirely drained by the year of 2036. As these programs are vital to many in the Upstate, I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure these programs remain sustainable for future generations. It really did get so stupid so fast. But while it all seems incredibly stupid, there is most likely a cold calculation behind it all. Let's not forget that part.
Trump is intentionally tanking everything so he can declare a state of emergency, which is his doorway into dictatorship. He knows exactly what he's doing. It's important not to be fooled by the veil of idiocy. What he is doing is exactly what Hitler did. Trump is a great con artist, one of the best. That takes skill. Don't underestimate his abilities.

I'm reaching out to ask if you are planning to have any town halls during the March recess. I am aware that the Upstate SC branch of Indivisible is attempting to schedule a Town Hall with you for March 15th at 2pm at the Hughes Main Library in Greenville. To my knowledge, you have yet to RSVP for the event. But it will take place whether you show up or not. I am also aware of Rep. Richard Hudson's remarks that everyone should stop holding in-person town halls due to the wave of angry backlash over the cuts undertaken by Trump's administration. There are many pressing matters we constituents should be able to voice our opinion on face to face. It is quite literally a part of your job to speak with us. If you are planning to attend the aforementioned event, or if you have any other Town Hall events scheduled, I would like to know the details. Thank you for time and consideration.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster declared a state of emergency on Sunday morning to support wildfire response across the state. There are ongoing response operations for more than 175 wildfires, according to the South Carolina State Fire Marshal. These fires are impacting 4,200 acres in counties across the state, including Horry, Spartanburg, Oconee, Union, and Pickens Counties.
