Pretty sure the vet that gets to keep their job for a year wouldn’t mind. And a lot teams really don’t play their rookies a lot of minutes especially if they aren’t top 1st round.

For one season. It’s not like Betts and company would never come into the league. You could also run this year just like last year 44 games and then move the schedule the following year so everyone would know and prepare. There isn’t an expansion team in ‘27. I just think it should be discussed.

At what point are we asking too much of their bodies? Just because we’ve always done it that way and others have been just fine. Doesn’t mean it is the right way.
Quite frankly I wished they’d just play in the winter. As a season ticket holder I’d rather go inside in December then July.

There used to be only 32 games and the first round of the playoffs were one and done. Now 44 games and longer playoffs, any expansion of time will include more games and maybe expansion of playoffs. I could see the WNBA going to 50-60 games and the NCAA has expanded the number of games they play.

There are plenty of players to fill the rosters. Not to the caliber of Betts or Fudd or Miles or even Kiki Rice but the league would survive a year with no NCAA rookies. Again the original point was just are we getting to a point that we are asking to much from individuals for our own entertainment?

I’m aware this is an expansion year, but you either end up with one year no class or ask the rookies to do more and more. There has been a lot of discussions on this app regarding player injuries and setting them up for healthy careers. I’m just saying maybe having time between seasons would help.

I agree the NBA is only after what gets them the most amount of money and crushes any leverage the players have by destroying the other leagues. I just think the argument “what about the rookies?” is one maybe we should look at before using as an excuse to just say no to an extension before May.

What if they didn’t draft until after the season? Is it really a good thing the NCAA players play two seasons in a calendar year? NCAA preseason, season, league tournament, NCAA tournament, extended WNBA season, larger WNBA game postseason, your getting close to 90 games in 14 months.

You are correct in it just moves money around, once you have a season of six months finding your own housing is easier. Some players may prefer the cash since they may want to invest in a year round home. Some players may want the ease of team housing. Someone wins and someone loses.

Most leagues have a housing stipulation for players traded mid season. MLB I believe is 3 months housing/hotel for anyone traded after camps open. They could get rid of the current housing agreement and still have something for traded players.

The WNBAPA first concern are current union members not potential new members. The fact going early competes with other leagues finishing including Unrivaled is more a concern than the NCAA. The league wants to get rid of Unrivaled.

I don’t think either team had timeouts, they wouldn’t of been able to swap her out for defense. My guess if the Storm had been down a point they would have swapped her out, but up a point they felt the defense was more important.

Agree to disagree Ezi may not be blocking shots but the people she’s guarding not named Aj’a aren’t going off. I love Dom especially her rebounding and touch on her shots in the paint. But even a cold Ezi is a better defender.

Because not in the “stats” is Ezi and Gabby are two of the better defensive players. Top 5 in blocks and steals.

If Washington has released Cooke and she clears waivers, can the Storm resign her (if she wants to rejoin) to a rest of year contract and effectively have just traded away 2/3 of her salary?

I don’t know if she answered this question but I was at the game and Gabby appeared a little gimpy at times in the 2nd half. Not injured just a little banged up.
