Rarely, a female kit is born with a tail. When this happens she becomes a symbol of the communities connection to the spirits and the natural world around them.

The kit have a deep connection with the spirits of the world and the Mists beyond. These spirits, the seirei, often live alongside the kit though they hide themselves from outsiders.
