You’re absolutely right. I made a great starter in my last place, but it died in the fridge due to my negligence during the moving process. I’ve had so much trouble getting one going in my current place. Determined to make it work, though!

No worries, thanks for the clarification! I read your earlier reply as you intended in this reply. 🙂 I’ll try to make my starter warmer to give the yeast a boost/keep up with the bacteria growth, since my house runs cool, & to have a slightly drier starter. I have some tinkering to do it seems!

This is helpful, thanks! Especially because my house is cool & the starter directions seem to lean toward a wetter “mother” than the wild one I made on my own at my last residence. I’ll add more flour next feeding.

Glad yours baked up nicely! My dough was pretty sticky last night, but I did a cold proof overnight. Came out kinda flat. It does at least have a sourdough taste, so something was happening!

Usually I can tell in Jetpack which blog post is getting a lot of views, but this time there’s not one in particular. Something must be bopping around my whole site. The where is trickier…sometimes Jetpack knows, but other times 🤷‍♀️.
