Just because the public want it, doesn't make it the right thing to do. Concentrate on creating the habitat the apex predators need. When there is enough of that, we can release the apex predators.

The habitat lynx require no longer exists in significant amounts. This will change with rewinding efforts, but we are several decades away from having enough to support a stable population of lynx.

Lynx aren't significant predators of red deer. Wolves are the natural predator of red deer.
