A key asymmetry of this era of American politics and how it’s covered is that Trump is expected to do bad and corrupt things, so when he does it barely qualifies as news. But Dems are expected to be beyond reproach, so anything that seems even slightly suspect is a huge scandal.

Joe Manchin saying Biden’s pardoning Hunter would be made more balanced if he also pardoned Trump is both unhinged and wildly ridiculous. Trump is IN OFFICE now so that he can avoid prison time for his dozens of felonies and the multiple cases that were built against him. thehill.com/homenews/sen...

Mediaite obtained the police report of the Pete Hegseth alleged sexual assault incident. The details are horrific and should be disqualifying.

Again and again and again THIS IS NOT NORMAL. Feeling like you’re in constant flight/fight mode is not normal. Living in this level of unknown is not normal. And the fact that people voted for this is, frankly, unhinged.
I’m going to say something historians rarely say.

We haven’t been here before.

We haven’t had a near-authoritarian takeover of our government.

Admittedly, we don’t know what comes next.

There’s a wide array of options.

But know that in the US, this is new ground. And none of this is normal.

It's notable to me that after years of fear-mongering about trans women playing sports, Republican leaders are now so emboldened that they won't even acknowledge that trans people exist. Almost like it was never really about sports.

This is probably going to mess up my algorithm but I’ve been obsessed with Wicked for 21 years and the timing of this movie release could not be better. I’ll just be over here listening to the soundtrack on repeat like it’s high school again
