Very much this, but I think it’s mostly male urbanists who do this. And their judgements are both gendered and classed. I think, though I may be overly positive, that women urbanists often start from the point that lives are complicated, wearing and difficult and better cities/towns would help.

Really sad to see this; this is a skatepark close to the school and community with whose children I’ve been researching over the past 2 years, and just more evidence of the precarious provision of play in Jarrow. Pleased to see at least that it’s been repaired so quickly.

I’ve been working in Jarrow and with a cohort of Jarrow children for two years now. I have grown very fond of Jarrow and its bright, funny, caring & playful kids. They, and their siblings, deserve places to play, on their doorsteps and at the heart of their town. I’m so pleased they might get them.
