What's it like inside your head?
What, right now? I'm wrangling sheep metrics and frankly could do with a bit more cooperation from them.

Hilly 5k this morning. Quite hard work, so I took a welcome breather to say hi to a new chicken at the end of our road - Araucana, I think. They lay blue eggs. #RunningPunks #chicken

We like to remember the cats today too. Daughter's husband is from Central America - every year he makes a little ofrenda for Charlie cat.

Sophie's most recent 'favourite place' is the top platform of the cat tree. I think she just likes looking down on people

Put this on family chat but only the over 50s got it

I have a blanket exactly the same as that! Well, I did. It's Sophie's office blanket now, and yes, it must be kneaded before she settles down.

Street cat, Dubrovnik bus station. Clearly in kitten, or perhaps already nursing. I know the downsides of urban feral cat colonies but it still gladdens my heart to see people looking out for them (in this case, a lady who produced sardines from a surprisingly smart handbag). #Caturday #tabby

I've got an assemblage with a lot of large cod to record today and, as always, when I bring out my modern cod skull for comparison I find it easy to imagine it's a dragon skull, found on a beach of Earthsea or some other classic fantasy land.

Ticked the #treesnottees box when I entered Worcester City 10k - they've just sent me a photo of my tree! Little (very little) birch sapling. Thanks, @treesnottees.bsky.social Good luck, little tree ❤️

It's been really heartening to see how well the house martins have done locally this year. Over the last few days there have been gatherings of literally dozens, perhaps even hundreds of them sometimes, hunting above the trees by my house, zooming over the rooftops and so close to the windows!

My neighbour has given me a tiny oak tree - barely big enough to be called a sapling. It has variegated leaves so I think it's a white-leaved oak. Heard of them before but never seen one.

Milestone run this morning - my first 10 km since the heart bypass. Lovely trails on the lower paths of the Malvern Hills. Obligatory photo of Narnia-style gas lamp (if you know Malvern, you know!) #runningpunks #malvern #trailrunning

Wandered past the Theatre of Small Convenience in Malvern this afternoon and was delighted to find the door open! A quick look inside - it's amazing! Looking forward to seeing it open again after the restoration work.
The smallest theatre in the world, in a converted Victorian gents toilet. Seats 12

Perfect end to the weekend. Pint of Butty Bach at the Red Lion, Cradley, listening to the very excellent @mollygonemad.bsky.social and wishing I'd got Monday off.

Another cardboard box which is now claimed by Sophie and can't go to recycling. She only likes them if they're tipped over on one side.

The cinnabar moth caterpillars have now eaten the ragwort outside my house down to the stalks so of course I feel obliged to collect them all up and move them down the road to new plants. Good luck little guys

Some of my stuff. I'd probably need to provide a list of people to invite.
