Pediatric home health RN and mom to a medically complex child. Passionate about inclusion, disability rights, the Oxford comma, and cheese.
Trying to figure out what’s taking Mike Lee so long to vote. Is it that he underestimated just how much time it would take to grow a whole entire spine? #ProtectMedicaid

Oh hey, it’s me! Still on my soapbox, hollering for whoever will listen that Medicaid is pro-life. #ProtectMedicaid
"Medicaid didn't just make my family work, it made my family possible."

Hear from Ali Chandra, a pediatric home health nurse who relied on #Medicaid for prenatal care, delivery, and her son Ethan’s first two open-heart surgeries, as she shares her story w/ @kalwradio.bsky.social

Real person roll call! 🙋🏻‍♀️
“Maybe if they talked to some real people we’d have a different outcome.”

Hey @repmcgovern.bsky.social - we might know a few real people who’d LOVE to talk. 😏

(PS, It’s us. We love sharing our stories.)

My son turns 11 this summer and wouldn’t be alive if not for Medicaid. #ProtectMedicaid
Hands up if you or someone you know has benefited from the Medicaid expansion in your state! ✋🏾

The #OneBigBeautifulBill would put Medicaid expansion at risk in states across the country.

This is not pro life.
This is pro cruelty.

Thank you for laying this out, @repbrendanboyle.bsky.social

Passing the #OneBigBeautifulBill pushes the BIGGEST cut to #Medicaid in American history, which translates to a loss of healthcare for MILLIONS OF AMERICANS

Using xenophobia to distract the American people from their planned cuts to #Medicaid is a sick and disgusting tactic.

Eternally grateful to have such an incredible champion and ally in @booker.senate.gov. Thank you for joining the #ProtectMedicaid vigil today!

She was there in 2017 when we did this the first time, and she’s still there today. I just can’t believe we’re all still trying to convince them that disabled kids deserve healthcare.

Today, I joined advocates and caregivers at the #ProtectMedicaid Vigil to lift up stories from my constituents who fear losing the health care they need and depend on.

While Republicans want to slash Medicaid so they can reward billionaires, Democrats are united to stop them.

Sen Booker & Rep Jeffries are still drawing We, the People to the Capitol Steps. Rep Jeffries called on the spirit of John Lewis & made it clear: Good Trouble lives on in heroes like Cole.
These kids are fierce.
Their fight is righteous.
This is the kind of trouble that saves lives.

Not sure I’ve ever been so proud to be a Jersey girl. Thank you for telling our stories and fighting for us, @booker.senate.gov. This is what real leadership looks like.

Medicaid saves lives. There are disabled kids with complex medical needs who are alive because of Medicaid.

Meet Ethan, who survived and is now thriving thanks to #Medicaid.💙💛

Think of him when you hear funding cuts, block grants, work requirements, admin burdens - they all threaten kids like him.
Woke up again to the news that #Medicaid is on the chopping block. I don’t think people truly understand what’s at risk here, so let me share our story. It’s one of countless others across this country, and my hope is that putting names and faces to the issue will help you understand why it matters.

It’s one thing to see stats like this. It’s something else entirely to put faces and names to the numbers.

Meet my friend June.

Dr Oz? DOCTOR OZ?! People are going to die. This all feels like a bad joke, but with human lives as the punchline I don’t think anyone should be laughing. #Medicaid #Medicare

I didn’t make it into this photo, but my son is there with all our friends. Proud to be part of this crew, because disability rights and inclusion are non-negotiable. #LittleLobbyists #disability #inclusion

There’s a lot of wretchedness going around at the moment, so here’s something lovely: my son and his best friend participated in a kids’ craft market today. It was every bit as cute as you’d imagine.

Women, would this work on you?

I am an accommodation for a student at an elementary school. I’m paid through #Medixaid to provide nursing so that he can safely be in a class with his peers. An ASL interpreter and a speech therapist give him language access. We’re all at risk here, but he’s the one who’ll be hurt worst.
As a former #SpecialEd attorney, I just want to be sure people get it.

Federal funds for students with #Disabilities will also disappear when the Department of Education does. And with #Medicaid at risk, so do related services (therapies etc). This is Trump’s plan.

I’ve been a nurse for nearly two decades, some of that in areas of the world where people had no access to healthcare. I know firsthand what it looks like. Vaccines and herd immunity for a protected, healthier populace? That’s a no-brainer.
Let me say something that is controversial because our brains are broken:

Vaccines are a miracle and amazing

I met Elena at the start of our advocacy journey when I was also just finding my voice to fight for my medically complex son. I hate that we’re still needing to do this, but there’s no one I’d rather be fighting alongside.
