I have a couple of advent knits this month:

1) Turning last year's advent 10g minis from The Wool Kitchen into a Sundial tee by @woolandpine.bsky.social

2) The @tellybeanknits.bsky.social gingerbread cowl MKAL (good time to mute #gingerbreadmkal if you don't want spoilers)

20 10g mini-skeins in variegated colours, arranged in two columns of 10 rows, a dark colour followed by a light one, with the colours roughly similar between the two columns (as they'll be the front and back of the sundial tee). 2 dark blue 2 light purple 2 darkish green 2 light yellow and pink 2 mid purple 2 pale yellow, purple and green 2 mid green or blue 1 light pink and 1 light blue and purple 1 dark purple and 1 dark blue 1 light blue and 1 light purple 6 25g balls of Pip 4ply wool from Baa Ram Ewe, in a row as they'll be used in the gingerbread cowl. Colours 1, 3 and 5 will be frosting, 2 and 4 will be accents, and 6 represents the gingerbread. 1 Pale mint green 2 Dark red 3 Undyed 4 Dark green 5 Bright neon pink 6 Dark burgundy

#stashbusting for my second crochet project - this is the ridgy didge version of Betty McKnit's viral star blanket, with eight different colours of acrylic from my mum's and my stash

A seven-pointed star blanket, with a repeating lace pattern and a thin raised ridge separating the repeats. It goes from glittery cream, to pastel yellow, to mixed pastels, to mid-pink, to dark yellow, to peachy orange, to dark pink and then dark burgundy at the edge.

I used 4ply on bigger needles for a loose gauge, it's lovely and drapey. The pattern has 3/4 sleeves, so I picked up and knit down at original cuff.

My finished Floral Fallal jumper by Vanessa Ewing. Made with Scheepjes DK acrylic that I frogged from a previous jumper that I never wore. Really happy that this will get more use than the old one.

I'm a day late, but my cowl is now finished and blocking. I made more colour changes in this final section (the lace should have been all lime green)
The cowl from previous days, stretched out and pinned on colourful blocking squares. The new bottom section has two rows of mint green garter stitch, then sections of pointed lace, with upside-down triangles in between. The lace starts with white, then goes to dark pink, then black at the edge and bind-off.

I've fallen behind, trying to knit a few days' worth today, to get back up to date, since tomorrow is the last clue!

A #stashbusting project - I used 2 balls of Poundland DK, knit only 50 stitches for Section 1, and did a reduced version of each section until the yarn ran out. Too short for a scarf, so became a cowl

Using colour 2 again, more relaxing texture knitting
Left half of the cowl from previous days. It now has a new section in mint green, with a pattern of triangular garter stitch "moths" against a stocking stitch background. A column of stocking stitch between the garter triangles looks like the moth body.

Just colour 5 today, with some texture and shaping
Cowl from above with a new orange section. This has right- and left-leaning decreases to make round pumpkin shapes in stocking stitch, on a garter stitch background. Slipped stitches of the pink from Day 2 make the pumpkin stems.

My first crochet project!

Textures tee by @tigerseyehandmade.bsky.social, in Paintbox cotton DK.

This was mostly single crochet and chains, so easy enough for me as a beginner, but the end effect looks quite detailed and fancy.
