Charlotte was tiny but Emily was 5ft 8’. I feel they may have skimped on their research somewhat.

I love James and Portrait was the one that made me a fan. That whole riveting chapter as she just sits in the armchair!

I loved Small Bomb at Dimperly too so would recommend Old Baggage and Crooked Heart. Also had a re-read of DLS this year and don’t think Jill Paton Walsh quite captures the language (although agree better plotter). But I loved The Corner that Held Them so obviously our tastes just differ a bit.
