Oh I hadn’t seen the author recommended order in the ebooks. I read them all in hard copy about 20 years ago and have been keeping up as they come out since then.

I recommend starting with Cordelia’s Honor, which is an omnibus edition of two novels/novellas.

After that I recommend sticking to the Miles (and Cordelia) books for the early ones. You can come back later for Falling Free and the other in-universe novels if the bug bites you.

When I'm wounded by publishing/the internet/news, I seek solace in the work. Writing has always been my oasis-- my sanctuary-- and when it's just me and the page, everything else falls away. And if you can't write just now, the art is always there. Crochet, painting, baking. Creation is rebellion.

Art is an act of hope. Writing is an act of rebellion. The world will always need more stories--from real human beings, not bullshit plagiarism machines. Every book is a love story from the author, and every reader is fighting the war against cruelty, ignorance, and hopelessness. We are fighting.

I wouldn’t recommend the leverback clasps on a key ring, because they open too easily. The fixed ring or large lobster claw options might work? They aren’t very large — none of the charms are even an inch tall.

Does that help?

If you’re a book learner, Elizabeth Hartmann’s Practical Guide to Patchwork will set you up. If you’re a video learner; check out Fat Quarter Shop’s YouTube channel. You don’t need a fancy machine, or fancy fabric. Keep the fabric content (cotton, etc) consistent w/in a project for best results

How a flawed idea is teaching millions of kids to be poor readers
For decades, schools have taught children the strategies of struggling readers, using a theory about reading that cognitive scientists have repeatedly debunked. And many teachers and parents don't kno...
