I grew up with "In fourteen hundred & ninety-two Columbus sailed the ocean blue". Now, if you ask my kids (ages 12 & 10) about Columbus they go off on a tirade about how awful he was. Trying to educate my kids so they don't learn the same whitewashed history I was taught!

I loved it!! I knew it was meaningful, but, admittedly, I didn't understand all of it. I SO appreciate the efforts of Black creators that have spent their time since breaking everything down. Every dissertation gives a deeper meaning and broadens my understand.
