But the surprising participation of so many Greeks abroad is due to a basic realization: Many left the country not (just) because of economic hardships but because of the suffocating control of the main political parties and primarily the current ruling party of #ND on all aspects of public life.

WRT myth 1, when in- person is considered synonymous to in- office, then indeed loneliness can not be solved with in-office work. But in-person doesn't have to be in- office. And when it isn't, it is very likely to address the loneliness issue.

We need to see it as an opportunity. Meta is failing to remain relevant, so they are paying their last cards, trying to attract the loud haters. Terrific opportunity for Bluesky to stand out as a true medium of connection, instead of just another medium of hate.

Just to be clear, the article is about Greeks defying indoor smoking bans, not about outdoor smoking. That was just the pretext for the article. It will take a century before outdoor smoking bans are seriously discussed in Greece.
