Truly tired of having to deal with antiblackness within medical care as a black disabled patient in VA it's taking a toll on me and has been since childhood but it's costing me so much now especially this weekend with VCU&HCA's care teams.

Her story has shaken up metro Detroit. It's very cold up here and she didn't get the help she needed even after calling the city and multiple agencies.

She, her mom, and her kids slept in a van. Ran out of gas.

Her 9 year old & 2 year old died from hypothermia.

I can't stop thinking about her. 💔
“I regret having to sleep out there so bad. I tell them, ‘I’m sorry, but I tried.’”

These kids deserved our protection. This mother deserves our protection. We are collectively failing one another.

Remember that a mask does more than protect against covid.

A well fitted respirator will also keep you safe from flu, measles, TB and other airborne viruses. It will keep those around you safe if you’re sick.

It’s an easy way to demonstrate community care and solidarity.
