If you engage in good faith, I'm here for it. Make sure you're ready to exhibit emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and integrity, or be ready to be taught.
What is mediation?
A process by which a neutral trained mediator assists participants in communicating constructively about a conflict to see if there are options for Resolution they both can live with.

I've been seeing a lot of questions of "what can I do?"
Pick one thing that matters to you and do that. Know when your need for others to change is making you unable to move forward toward your own goals. Get over the need to change others. We CAN do hard things! #peacemaker

How do we resolve conflict in a time where it seems peace is impossible?

Teach people to be critical thinkers. Be the order in the chaos. Remain self-aware and work on your biases so as not to add to the drama. Step one is about you.

It's an illusion meant to keep us spiraling in fear and anger. Nobody can make you feel anything. We don't need to be apathetic to not be tossed about by the waves of chaos. Buckle down. We've got shit to do.

This is a test of our integrity. Do we let anger and vindictiveness consume our energy or do we fiercely advocate for the equity and community? You can maintain high accountability and high support.

I would love to engage with people who are here for the hard work, the self work. Together we can do hard things, and great things!

There's so much value in the Social Discipline Window. Restorative Practices is not the "soft" way to engage, but in fact, the more demanding of our energy. It is absolutely possible to engage with high accountability AND high support.

This is a reality testing moment. Each of us must decide how much work we are genuinely willing to do on ourselves. It's easy to point at others for not being what we expect, but our expectations are about us.

Ask open ended questions, if you are genuinely seeking information. Anything else is manipulative and seeking to reinforce your bias.

How do we make a difference? By starting with ourselves. Before we look around and point to what isn't working we have to be able to look at ourselves and ask how did "I" contribute. And then how will "I" contribute to making my life the way I want it to be?

The opposite of love is fear, not hate. Learning self-awareness and emotional intelligence directs us toward community and not domination.

You get to say NO. NO is a complete sentence. You get to choose what energy you allow in your space. That goes for us all. Boundaries don't require justification.

Conflict can be a good thing. Hear me out. Sometimes conflict needs to escalate to reach resolution. Don't be worried and don't try to avoid it. Develop your emotional intellegence and learn how to sit in the discomfort of the unknown.

Looking for peacemakers to join my community! No toxic positivity and no BS!

Restorative Practices teaches that we can exist in a community with high accountability and high support. The two can and should exist. We simply agree as a community that this is how we want to exist.
