This has been discussed in the Discord throughout testing 1.0.0. The old editor was local where the new editor is now loading from the web essentially and uses the Monaco Editor. The Monaco Editor was announced in the Beta release announcement and is in the Changelogs on the site.

This means if you live in WI and are registered to vote this is an important election for you. If this wasn't important then Musk & Co. wouldn't even bother worrying about it.
