What’s the TLDR on what certifying a question to a state Supreme Court means?

It's easy to say "Boston" in these discussions, and what that means is all of eastern MA, and southern NH and northern RI. I got priced out of my 1 bedroom apartment in NH (red X) after it went from under $1200 to over $1600 in less than 3 years!

Simply reorganize the entire ownership structure of football so that all the teams are owned by the league so that the entire thing is technically one employer. All the billionaire owners will instead own a stake in the league itself and their ownership contracts will stipulate control of their team

Is there a difference in the eyes of the law between preventing an employee from leaving and getting all their other potential employers to sign a thing saying they won’t hire them until a certain date?

It is just wrong to say that this would have resulted in all of the cases against him being thrown out. Several of the cases were still ongoing at the time of the election, including the documents case.

SCOTUS through out some charges against Trump, but nowhere near all of them. Those that weren't thrown out may have had time to actually see a courtroom had Jack Smith's work began in January 2021 rather than November 2022.

I see this as a fun little easter egg.

I hate this take. Hate it. I would rather be able to fly somewhere than not be able to fly somewhere. Comfort has gone down because airlines have been forced to compete on price. I want them to be forced to compete on price. I want to be able to fly to Japan for $1000.

I think they should also be allowed to invest in any index fund (not just retirement accounts, allow them to trade normally), but they have to publicly announce their trades like a week ahead of time.

…local AfD seats are accounted for in their total, 5% smaller national share, while that 5% goes to that smaller party. Does it not pencil out to an equal share of the Bundestag regardless? (2/2)
November 7, 2025 at 1:01 PM
Wait, I really don’t understand how this could be a problem. The size of the legislature scales to however many seats they need in order to make proportionality work. If 5% vote for AfD locally and an align party nationally, that means the legislature just has to be bigger so that the 5% of… (1/2)

What about Germany’s MMP system? Everyone still has a directly elected local representative while also having proportional representation.

They only go back when a national anti-gerrymandering law is passed that stops red states from doing it as well. Until red states gerrymanders are eliminated, blue ones must stay as well.

The Rainbow Bridge is definitely more intimidating on the American side. Much more barbed wire and such. But I got through immigration in like a couple minutes. I mean, all I had on me was a small backpack.
