nanowrimo used to have a widget that let you put your word count in and you could display it on your forum signature and i really wanted that for my site but couldn't find it so NOW,

obviously recent events have made dreamwidth hard to use for people in some places but it still drives me crazy that the platform people claim to want is right there and nobody bothers to give it a try lol. yeah it's never going to be peak lj era... especially if you don't give it a chance
