🚨Only 28% ICU survivors accessed mental health support within 12 months.

Where do we go from here?
➡️Targeted follow-up for ICU survivors at risk of psychological distress
➡️ Improve accessibility to mental health support
➡️ Proactively plan for the psychological impact of future pandemics.

PIM-COVID investigated the psychological impact of an ICU admission for COVID-19 on patients in the UK.

Risk factors for psychological distress included:
⚠️ prior mental health diagnosis
⚠️ unemployment or being on sick leave pre-admission
⚠️ pre-existing asthma or COPD.
