Fun fact, my paternal grandmother was a Knievel (yes *that* Knievel family). So when our new Associate Concertmaster, Jessica, showed up dressed as Evel (with a helmet too) I knew we had to take a pic together. Happy Halloween! 🎃 🏍️ 👠

OSO horns for Halloween Pops this weekend 🌈 Redemption for a lost costume competition from my previous job just a *cough* few years ago. No contest this time, but a fun time for sure!

First day of teaching at Reed College: 1 student for 1 semester—fab! Student didn’t show 🙃 but I had a lovely practice session in this oh-so-flattering recital hall with natural light 🙌

It’s no secret that Hood to Coast weekend is my favorite weekend of the year. One friend calls it my Christmas, and it’s fitting. We had another great year, and I’m still on a high from it 2 weeks later. Love this team more than I can describe! 50 weeks until HTC26, but who’s counting 🙋🏼‍♀️

A truly fulfilling week in San Francisco: rehearsals, friends, running, hiking, concerts, & more!

I’m grateful to have been a part of Esa-Pekka’s final concerts & to have experienced the incredible energy on stage & from the audience. Thanks for having me!

And for me personally, getting to visit with my other amazing mentor, Bill Barnewitz was extra special. He helped put me on the path to Northwestern and to Gail, and they set me up for the professional life I feel so lucky to have. I’m forever grateful to them both 💜💜

I looked forward to this concert celebrating my teacher Gail Williams’ retirement. I knew it would be special, but it was beyond what I could have imagined. It was truly one of the most meaningful concerts I’ve been a part of.

My robotic HD video camera friend was sitting very close to me again this year 😅 I’m calling this my proof of life photo from the Oregon Symphony gala since the horns are mostly covered by the giant screen.

I think this round stick figure someone drew in my music is an indication to take a big breath 😅🤓💨 They used it many times throughout the part (4th #horn on #Sibelius 5), and sometimes it has legs too 😆

A rare Saturday night off + a snowed-in pre-Valentine’s dinner date = dinner & ballet. Since the ballet was also snowed-out, we ended up being there for opening night of their new Giselle choreography (a gaping hole in my ballet spectating repertoire!). ‘Twas beautiful—bravi tutti OBT!
