Dad bought a tiny urn for me. Last night, we gave him a permanent home. He’s surrounded by the Lego sets he gave us, his home brew bottle with a logo, and the harbor of the town that captured his heart. Love you and miss you, dad.

My dad left this life last Tuesday. I miss him so terribly, but am so glad for so many good memories. He convinced me to ride a day of RAGBRAI a few years back, and because I can’t say no, we rode 52 miles one hot July day. Till we meet again, I’ll do my best to make you proud.

This last month has been a lot. My brave dad, who has been battling cancer for almost 4 years, decided he’s ready to be done fighting. He’s on hospice now, but still fighting daily to live a good life. We visited this weekend and I joined him for a bike ride every day.
