There is a corner in my neighborhood with a garlic mustard invasion and I pull that in the spring when it flowers. Also deadheaded the thistles on the same corner to prevent them from reseeding all over the neighborhood.

There are multiple reasons why this is happening but certainly a major contributor is the belief that the evil scientists are indoctrinating one's children into believing in evolution, etc., and so it's better to get rid of them entirely.

My dog once looked into a sewer grate on our walk and found a raccoon staring up at him. After that he had to check every grate in the hope that he would find another.
