Thank you. I'm turning 19 and I'm trans in the UK and I'm scared, but people like you writing things like this give me hope, and a bit more of the strength I need to stand up.

Also, your characters don't have stats. Sure, they can be handy but honestly play without them for a while and you'll realise how much weight you save by ditching them.

My favorite example: the best way to recover your resources is to Flirt. Doesn't even have to be with your allies! In fine PbtA tradition, all mechanics are woven into narratve actions, and it makes play so much more engaging. You literally *cannot* play without telling a story!

It's a game focused on the relationships that form between characters, and how they're obstructed/bolstered/complicated in a setting where you're at war half the time - and the mechanics do an amazing job of facilitating, and actively pushing for and this.

Plenty of people have already mentioned some of my faves - everything blades does to speed up play, everything Heart does to encourage risky/adventurous/narratively satisfying play - but for an underrated pick, Girl Frame by Isabelle M. Reubsat.

The glee in my friends eyes when they realised they could edit the antagonists' descriptions to make them less of a threat / absolutely laughable / more their characters type is not something I'll ever forget <3

I think the minimal way you set up the mission in the last bit is brilliant - both in how you give just enough structure to get the imaginative juices flowing without being restrictive, and also in how deliciously editable it all is!

Also, you absolutely should be proud! The day-long game of lexicutioners I played with some of my best friends for my 18th birthday is still my favorite session out of all the games I've ever run.

It's gotta be that the part about not killing red text *is not itself red* right? The first time I saw that I went "OOOOOOGH WAAAAAIT GRANT YOU DIDN'T!" out loud.
