Everyone is bringing out their beach reads list. How about a book that actually has a beach in it?

Like every teacher, I couldn't wait for summer for all the reasons listed below. But mostly because it was the only time when I had uninterrupted time to write.

I just received this Facebook friend request. I always suspected Paul Hollywood wasn't his real name. I just might accept. I do like a man who can bake.

It's 10 days until the launch of A Dark Death, and I'm getting ready with my favourite giveaways. The bookmarks are on their way, but I've already received my favourite giveaway--the fridge magnets for the book cover. Here they are alongside last year's book. #writers #booksky #Mystery #swag

It's not spring in this Canadian home until I put away the flannel sheets. Here are Kit and Snowflake enjoying the spring sheets. Yes, I know I haven't made the bed, but as any cat or dog companion knows, you can't make the bed until the animals decide to move on.

I love creating town names for my books, but if I included these in a book, people would argue it was contrived, proving once again that truth is stranger than fiction.

A Dark Death, the second book in the Meredith Island Mystery series, is on 49th Shelf's list of most anticipated 2025 Spring books. I'm honoured to be sharing space with some of my favourite Canadian crime writers.

Lots of good news to announce this week. Let's start with the cover reveal of the second Meredith Island book, A Dark Death. I love the atmosphere and how the elements of sky, sun, rocks, and plants echo the Secrets in the Water cover.
