Extremely specialized uses can work if carefully trained with good data (failing to do so gets AI looking for rulers instead of lesions), but not general.

Autonomous vehicles barely function tolerably in geofenced areas with excellent roads and sunny weather.
Those things can't be trusted in heavy rain, much less on snow and ice with obscured or worn road markings. Autonomous cargo transport is decades away if possible at all.
