It’s depressing, but I don’t think he’s stupid - I think he’s crooked. He sold a bunch of stock right before unleashing the tariffs, let his bros buy up the cheap stock that crashed, & now he’s righting the market to sell high. Short sighted and probably criminal, yes. Stupid, no.

Oh wow, I wish my academic textbooks had only been 3-4 times as expensive as other similarly sized books. Most of them were over $1,000, and that was more than 15 years ago.

That’s probably part of it. He’s also big on paying private companies to do work, so I imagine that will be part of the plan. They get to charge the big bucks because it’s a last minute emergency, too.

My consolation is that it’s obvious no one is reading these millions of emails. They’re just going to use an AI scraper to fire people who mention their hated buzzwords and those who didn’t/ couldn’t respond. Just send anything.

This is why The Winchesters didn’t work. People got annoyed & stopped watching because the explanation didn’t come until the season finale & until then it just seemed like the premise was wrong.
