I'm so sorry. I'm in academia myself. The demographic cliff, shrinking middle class, federal funding cuts etc etc will result in a huge domino effect. It's upsetting that there's no real warning 😔

Rumsfeld touted the "a few bad apples" stuff, and there were a lot of waterboarding apologists like John Yoo (and Christopher Hitchens, for a hot second). Only a few enlisted saw trials/incarceration. One of the central military whistleblowers was paranoid for the rest of his short life.
