When I interviewed @lindseyboylan.bsky.social for my book on online abuse, she told me women were among her most vicious attackers. The @nytimes.com reported the activists smearing Lindsey and Andrew Cuomo’s other accusers were quietly led by Madeline Cuomo, his sister.

As women’s history month comes to a close, thinking about @kimberlecrenshaw.bsky.social telling me how crucial it is to continue to be shocked by things, to be disappointed. “That’s got to be what holds people to a commitment to insist women’s lives matter, even when it seems like they don’t.”

The conversation about free speech has been manipulated by a party who deports people who express dissent, wants to use the FCC to shut down journalism, manipulates social platforms to privilege self interest. The people who value this right are the ones who have had to fight for it. They still do.

On this International Women’s Day, a reminder to never accept what is unacceptable.
