At @aaas.org, I spoke with a #SciPol Fellow whose fellowship has been impacted. As a scientist, I’m concerned these challenges in impacting the U.S.'s scientific edge. While many discuss scientific breakthrough, there’s clearly uncertainty when the conversation shifts to the political situation.

One question, “What makes you compelling?” made me reflect on how storytelling isn’t just about facts, but about characters & connection. Can’t wait to incorporate these in my Pittcon #scicomm workshop!

One question, “What makes you compelling?” made me reflect on how storytelling isn’t just about facts, but about characters & connection. Can’t wait to incorporate these in my Pittcon #scicomm workshop!
As a former glyco-scientist, #microbiome fascinates me! In this panel, Profs @laurakiessling.bsky.social, Susan Lynch, @contaminatedsci.bsky.social, and George Gerber explored live microbial #biotherapeutics, colonization success, and how ML tools are advancing the field. So much potential!

There is a wealth of scientific and social evidence showing how diversity efforts positively impact society. As a scientist, I find it both unbelievable and frustrating that politics is playing such a monopolizing role in this progress. #DiversityMatters
