Key capacity principles • Density rules of thumb: • Standing cocktail/ Reception: about 6-10 square feet per person, depending on how much space is reserved for circulation, bars, and entertainment. Mixed standing and limited seating: around 8-12 square feet per person. • Banquet with rounds (8-10 people per table): roughly 12-15 square feet per person. • Theatrical seating (chairs in rows facing a stage): about 6-8 square feet per person, depending on aisle space. • Scale implications: • A space of 3,300 square feet used at banquet density (12-15 sq ft per person) would accommodate roughly 220-275 people. • A space of 90,000 square feet used at banquet density (12-15 sq ft per person) would accommodate roughly 6,000-7,500 people. • If the same 90,000 sq ft is used at standing-only density (6-10 sq ft per person), capacity would be about 9,000-15,000 people. Before the comparisons of the East Room and #TrumpBallroom capacities It is worth checking nearest existing example.

It is a gigantic banqueting and gathering space. The ballroom in Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas is smaller at 85,500 sqft and it seats 5,650 guests in banqueting style.

Up until now, that is before demolition on WH East Wing the largest reception room in the White House was East Room measuring cca 3,300sqft and seating in banqueting style about 200 guests.

Just so everyone sees what has been demolished on the whim of #47 and without permission see below.

This made me wonder what lies behind his life and the importance of inscription - with help of Perplexity I found it had to do with being caught up in the poll tax demonstrations (towards the end of Thatcher era) and made an example in court!

How it ended and why fight police unreliable evidence
Alistair S F Mitchell was a barrister who was convicted in connection with the 1990 poll tax riots in London, where he found himself trapped during the disturbances. He was charged with assault, specifically alleged to have bitten a policeman's hand—a case described as unique in British legal history for the allegation of "biting a policeman with someone else's teeth.". Mitchell recounted that he had no recollection the following morning of any such incident involving his teeth and a policeman. He was surprised at the charges of actual bodily harm, as he had merely been photographing the protests and tried to intervene when witnessing police handling demonstrators. Ultimately, after spending time in prison, his conviction was quashed by judicial review years later.
