Sometimes I feel like I’m getting nothing done, at work or academically, and then my weekly Grammarly report from the college really puts things in perspective

October was the first time I missed my monthly reading goal, but the three books I did read were all fairly solid! I waffled about some of these ratings but I enjoyed all of these books (for wildly different reasons).

Happy licensing of this second Maiden’s Tragedy to all who celebrate!

Nearly forgot to post my September #BookSky update, in which Dracula ate up my entire month. Some good, fun stuff, and lots of audiobooks. Time for a pizza party.

I’ve been training for this question, I just didn’t expect it in a conversation about Halloween costumes for a toddler. #EarlyModern #AcademicSky

Time for the August #BookSky update: I had to work hard to carve out reading time this month as I ramped up school year prep projects at work. Still managed four books though, and audiobooks continue to be my preferred method of winding down in the evening.

I was actually working on my syllabus, but now I’m researching bird feeders for Snug. #Caturday

July was a month of conferences, traveling, and BOOKS. I am looking forward to my fancy pizza, and to sharing some of the books I read this month with friends.

Several people have greeted me at #RenSoc25 by asking about Snug. Guys, she’s doing so good. Look at this floof of a cat.

5 books in June! Or 6, if you count the fact that Monk and Robot was two novellas in one volume. Still, I enjoyed fancy pizza with a friend yesterday. #BookSky

May was about sharing books with friends. Most of what I read last month was borrowed from or recommended by friends both old and new! I’m eating fancy pizza this weekend.

I read 7 books in April! This was a good month of reading and my highest ratings of the year so far (ended the month with two 5-star reads!). I also spent far too much money at Indie Bookstore Day events, so my TBR is sorted for… a while. Yay reading!

I missed my March post for many reasons, but I still read 4 books! This is the first time in a while that I’ve not done my SAA travel reading binge, probably because I was speed reading all my seminar papers on the plane 🙃

Not #Caturday, but a midweek #AcademicCat snap, in which we discover that Snug likes to read but can’t come to grips with the fact that this book is upside down.

6 books in February! Half audio, half in print, including Clytemnestra (which I loved) and a riveting mystery that I read to my friend’s one year old, entitled “where’s my panda?” #BookSky

Went to the polls on Tuesday, spent Friday writing out postcards for the next election.

I am sad and frustrated for my community after yesterday’s primary election, but today the Tutors and Writing Fellows voted on a spring door dec theme, so at least I got to make this cute momentary distraction.

Every week, my staff meetings include a “weekly updates” section for student managers to share news. There’s also a “director updates” slide and, by popular demand, a new “Snug updates” slide.

This week, Snug’s updates include a progress check on her newest trick, fist bumps. #AcademicCats
