8/ Accountability is not optional, Gaza cannot wait. The EU will be remembered for its unforgivable inaction in the annals of history.

7/ By ignoring its own findings, and that of the ICJ, UN, and ICC, the EU is not just failing Palestinians as a people - it’s undermining its own principles, credibility and eroding the rule of law.

6/ Time is paid in Palestinian lives, and to delay action by supposedly “monitoring” an ongoing genocide is to enable the continuation of atrocity crimes.
The EU cannot claim to stand for human rights while shielding a State it has found in breach of its own legal framework.

5/ @kajakallas has described this shocking move as a “historic moment” to host Israeli & Palestinian foreign ministers at the same table - equating a genocidal, settler-colonial, apartheid State with its victims.
This is not diplomacy. This is normalising impunity.

4/ Rather than terminating the AA based on Israel’s continued commission of well-documented mass atrocities, which are increasing in scale and intensity, the EU actually deepened its, ties with Israel under the EU-Neighbourhood Pact.

3/ Instead, the EU settled for a so-called humanitarian deal and committed to “monitoring” how Israel- a state credibly accused of genocide by the ICJ- would implement it. States should not “monitor” genocide, but act to stop it.

2/ The EU has concluded that Israel is in breach of Article 2 of the EU-Israel Association Agreement (AA), which conditions relations on respect for human rights & democratic principles. It is a legal red line that ought to trigger consequences, including suspension of the AA.

We further call on the EU & its Member States to impose sanctions on Israel, impose a two-way arms embargo, & suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement. International law must be upheld—not selectively, not symbolically, but through concrete measures of accountability.

However, diplomatic appeals have failed. It's time for action. The EU must take concrete steps to end all forms of complicity in this unlawful situation. It must ensure the provision of unhindered and unlimited humanitarian aid, organise and support a humanitarian convoy to Gaza.
