I find these polls interesting, but forcing either/or choices on complex issues probably limits what they reveal about how people are thinking. Many likely believe both factors matter—or have different views altogether. Adding a “both” or “not sure” option could help.

Agree. Not convinced any of these labels, overused or not, are productive (or persuasive, if that’s the intent). And the labels can be counterproductive if you get bogged down in an “is it or isn’t it” debate. Seems more useful to talk about specific actions and the specific harm they cause.
