2024: the warmest year on record and the first to pass 1.5C. Does this mean we breached the Paris agreement? Not quite.

This is climate variability—temperature could go down next year. We need to surpass 1.5C for the next 10+ years to reach global average temperatures that surpass the Paris goal.
