On August 6, 1986, Mexican actor and filmmaker Emilio “Indio” Fernandez passed away at age 82. One of the most important representatives of the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, “El Indio” appeared alongside Bob Dylan in Sam Peckinpah’s “Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid” (1973)

Carmen Montejo and Emma Roldan starred in Jaime Humberto Hermosillo’s directorial film debut “La verdadera vocacion de Magdalena” (1971). Montejo, a Mexican acting legend on stage, film and TV, died on February 25, 2013, at age 87

Mexican actors Carmen Montejo and Antonio (Tony) Aguilar worked together for the first time in the Puerto Rico theater of New York in 1954. In the early 70s, according to Miss Montejo, also in New York Tony invited her to be part of the cast of the first gay themed western “Los marcados” (1971)

Hermosillo’s biggest international hit is “Dona Herlinda y su hijo” (1985), starring Guadalupe del Toro, mother of renowned filmmaker Guillermo del Toro who worked as a production manager in the film and since then recognized Hermosillo as his film mentor. Hermosillo passed away on January 13, 2020
