➕This effort should be complemented by a roadmap to 2030 (and beyond), coordinated closely with Member State plans, to ensure that targets are practical and achievable.

🗣️CATF is calling for an update to the EU Hydrogen Strategy, including a revision of the overly ambitious 2030 targets to more realistic goals, grounded in thorough analysis based on existing and future sectoral hydrogen demand.

⌛This halfway mark, as well as the newly approved #EUCommission in place, provides a timely opportunity to reflect on the existing EU Hydrogen Strategy and provide a more pragmatic and technologically open-minded approach going forward.

⁉️Why? Well, we are approaching the halfway mark to 2030, and only around 0.4%(!) of the EU’s hydrogen production comes from #renewables -based #electrolysis, far from the 10 million tonnes expected to be online by 2030, with another 10 million tonnes imported.
