This is just some Crypto derived thing. They use something called the Frequency network which is based on a PolkaDot parachain apparently made by Project Liberty LLC. There is no reasonable reason to use a blockchain as the base of a social network. ActivityPub works. Still waiting on AtProto fed.

Indeed it needs commitment to rewson, science and secular values.
But a move away from religion is not automatically a move towards those values. Many will be caught by all kinds of new age spiritual grifters instead.
