Indistinguishable from a kidnapping (because it is) but exercising their illegitimate authority in such a way to provoke maximum fear - that they could be operating anywhere without warning or ID, and being unidentified, practically inviting attempts to resist that can be used to justify their acts.

We’re thinking of changing things this year and partnering with a youth org for our racial justice session but it would be so cool to have copies of your work to share with our students (predominantly first gen and students of color)! Also open to a virtual or in-person visit if you’re interested!

I lead a health justice program for high school students in DC (project-insight.org) and last year had a rep from DC Civil Rights Corps do a joint session with DC Justice Lab and talk with students about racial justice as it relates to the criminal justice system!

I saw 9-year-olds, 11-year-olds, children with intellectual disabilities, children who had suffered profound abuse--all shackled for hours. But what shocked me most: no one had objected in years. The government officials had become desensitized to everyday brutality.
