She is HORRIBLE in the first book and I felt the same. But I would recommend trying again. I think it’s worth it. Also, Throne of Glass is SOOOOOO much better. A lot less romance, but the SJM is more brave in her character development.

Book 1 is the worst. Books 2 and 3 are fantastic. I really enjoyed the series and it’s worth getting through.
