It was great to see a memorial photo of #PableauxJohnson at the Jazz & Heritage Stage at #JazzFest. It was so weird to be at that stage and not see him.

I rarely think #JazzFest is silly, but #ElConjuntoNuevaOla was profoundly silly with a ska “Moves Like Jagger” and cumbia “Girl You Know it’s True.” See for yourself when they play again at 4:20. They move a crowd, so it works.

It’s hard to know how to describe #PasatonoOrquesta at #Jazzfest. Music from Oaxaca that would probably sound familiar to fans of Balkan folk music … at times. Very cool, whatever.

One of my favorite recent additions to #MardiGras is the #KreweOfBhanGras, a dance crew heavily influenced by Bollywood. They’re also in #Muses & #Iris.

Mardi Gras 2025. Are they a unit in a parade or security? 90 percent sure they’re part of #Mars. Still …. Also, they’re ICE but also wearing “Police” (which they’re not) on their flak jackets.
