Yeah I think this is it. A lot of us Millennials who graduated around 2008 kept hoping that if we just held out a few more years, the 'prosperity' that we grew up with would be attainable again. And now we're 40 and coming to terms with the fact that that prosperity will never actually exist again.

The crash in 2008 happened as most of us were finishing college and I think a lot of us kept telling ourselves that if we just make it a few more years, things will get better again. And then a few more years. And then a few more years. I think the hope has just run out, finally.

I agree and disagree. I think a big part of the vibecession is because extremely-online Millennials are reaching/nearing 40 and realizing that the lifestyle we grew up with and have been chasing for 20 years doesn't actually exist anymore and never will again.
