Yeah I think Merino has the capacity to. Showed a bit of it at Chelsea. He also hasn’t been able to play with Ø and Rice at the same time which is what I’m assuming our ideal midfield will be (although, I know it’s contentious, I’m not sure how you drop Partey rn he’s been playing out of his mind)

There’s a massive Xhaka sized hole in Martinelli’s heart right now. Merino vs Chelsea was really promising that maybe he can be that guy for him

Think he’s just kindve left to his own devices sometimes on that LHS. We’ve seen how efficient Ø/Saka/BenWhite are when they play together because they play OFF of each other. Martinelli doesn’t have that right now. Hopefully a full time Merino x Timber/Calafiori will help.
