Absolutely support your thoughts. Taught at international schools for 23 years. This was often a point of discussion. Had to teach a cultural heritage unit with 6-7 year olds. Try this abstract concept with that year group! Difficult to not end up with the 4 fs: flags, fashion, food, festivals.
