Family. Football. Music. And books. Still working on that first novel (writing, not reading...).
Belated happy birthday, GP.

Coincidentally, I recently gave Howlin' Wind its annual spin.

And added the book to my Christmas list.

Pretty sure that photo is from winning the league at Easter Road in 1973.

I reckon that's Davie Hay jumping in th ebackground, based on the numbers.

Mint Cracknel* is not missed. Wee spikey shards that could pierce the roof of your mouth.

*Mint Shrapnel we called it.

It's funny how the memory works.

Every time I hear this I'm reminded of it being used as the backing track to a segment on World of Sport.

Motocross competitors struggling to get up hills and negotiate bends on a mud-bath of a course.

Yeah, I go easy on them 😁

Did he intend to, or was it one of those unsteerable trolleys with a jammed wheel?

They liked a good night out.

Prediction. In coming days...

- more bluster from Trump.
- Trump withdraws threat to sue.
- Trump claims he would have won but didn't think it was fair the British public should be punished for the BBC's actions.
- JD Vance is appointed Director-General of the BBC.

(Ok, maybe not that last one.)

When I first heard it, I thought Weller was singing:

"Hello, hooray, all the perverts play."

Which would've been a great line, I think.

The Caribbean Rum Cask version is excellent, too.

I only knew who he was because my mates recognised him.

When a couple of girls got out of a taxi he turned to us and said "Ever feel like you're in a f*cking pop band?" before stomping off.

No Mr Fish, you were in a Poundshop Genesis.

Talking of Marillion, I saw them with my mates at the Dial Inn (Glasgow) in 1982.

They loved 'em. I thought they were bloody awful.

We were outside the venue before the doors opened, when Fish arrived. Mr Dick lived up to his name, booting the door and being disparaging to a couple of girls.

"There It Is", in particular, was a cracking single. Nile Rodgers would've been proud of that one.

And one of those straight-into-the-chorus openings.

Headline writers dream.
'Nancy Bhoys' every week.

He wanted a fur-lined one, but his ma said they cost a packet.

I'll get me parka.

That's a shocker.

Three covers...

"Should I Stay.." and "Rock The Casbah" (Clash songs for people who don't know The Clash") at 2 and 3...

And I'm guessing that by putting (Stand By Me) after "Train In Vain", and ignoring the early classics, yer man is American?

If that's top 10 and WMIHP isn't, the list is invalid.
