The annoying part is that Jewish-American conservative thinkers, drawing on their specific experiences as Jews in early-mid 20th century New York, absolutely were crucial to the development of neoconservatism, it just isn't reducible to that. The Know Your Enemy podcast covers this well and often.

The reality is that all these people are just very obedient readers of the news, so they just don't have any intellectual resources that mainstream newspapers' political coverage doesn't provide. Meanwhile the Guardian's politics section persistently obscures internal Labour political dynamics!

Why do you keep using the term "nihilism" to characterise scepticism? None of your left critics here are nihilists, they all hold very closely-held values - they were just more clear-eyed about the Labour Party as an institution than you were.
