I would not say so. Sounds completely different to me but I am a bad judge here. 😁 I think both Portuguese and Spanish are not too complicated for a Russian speaker phonetically and are generally beginner friendly. Though it may be challenging when you get to tenses and moods.

I learned Brazilian Portuguese for about a year. Partly because I started listening to 🇧🇷 music, partly because I speak Spanish and it seemed an easy way to learn the basics of a new language.
