In this house the newer version is the one that deals with the spiders.

Indeed, and how many “survivors” given how many infected? Still to be regarded as fatal! Did not realise RFK Jr had claimed such! Bonkers.

The 15-year old from WI is Jeanna Geise. Studies re Milwaukee Protocol have shown it to not be the “cure” that was hoped. As per above other survivors have major neuro damage. Survivors may only have lived a short time also.

Just noticed “Five of those patients had received rabies vaccinations before illness”.

I’m from the UK, grew up in the 70s-80s. Everyone was utterly paranoid about rabies thanks to gov info programs such as this:

I saw that too, but no citation. I can’t find anything on verified survivors other than Geise. There is a study documenting rabies antibodies found in the blood of Peruvian villagers which *implies* some kind of exposure to (survival of ?) rabies but nothing conclusive www.avma.org/javma-news/2...
Villagers had rabies antibodies without vaccination
Villagers in Peru have survived exposure to rabies virus and developed antibodies without vaccination, according to an article published in the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene

Did you find a specific reference with survivor numbers? I am curious because, indeed, as you say 20 seems unlikely. The Milwaukee Protocol didn’t even turn out to be helpful, sadly.

I was not aware of that. I thought Jeanna Geise was the only confirmed such survivor and even then there is the possibility that she didn’t have rabies but lyssavirus.
