Sorry Mr. Byk, but I can’t agree with you about Paco. I think he should have gotten 6 months for smacking National Law in the face after the race was over and the horse was well in hand.

@stevebyk.bsky.social As many have said JCGC was horrifying. I was so scared for Irad. I think it was Migliore who when reflecting on Turcotte railed against rough starts. And how it would be shame if it took an injury like that again.

Gotta agree so hard about the gamblers who know nothing about horses. I’ve never worked with racehorses, but showjumpers. Something as simple as saddle fit can completely change a horse’s performance. Let alone major stuff like if they get along with their rider.

You broadcast the Holy Bull Travers the other day, and I’d never heard it before (I was only 2 when the race ran). Wow, what a great race call! I could practically see the race unfold. Had me on the edge of my seat for the stretch even though I already knew the result.
