There are so many heart wrenching similarities I could barely breathe while reading it. The way she weaves in our people’s history of colonization and mo’olelo of the akua brought me to tears. I believe it’s a must read for all mixed Kānaka diaspora. Trigger warning- substance abuse, death, rape.
